This Idea Just Makes Me Wish I Were Pregnant

I've got costumes on the brain.
Look what Ashley created
at Make it And Love It.

If I could rig it right, this is how I would tell the world that I was expecting :)

I won

It has been a busy week.
After finishing my costume for our party on Sunday,
I was scrolling through
Google reader and came upon
this.
I hope that you take time to check out some of her recent projects like her kitchen island, button art on her craft wall, and her Christmas hoodies that are available at her etsy store.
She's a very creative lady (and an Ikea lover).

She is sending me this cutie owl:

The garland is bea-u-ti-ful!
The kids are downright precious (and grown now I understand).

Thank you!

Vintage Pop Crate

I have been looking for a Dr. Pepper crate...
but so far this is what I found within my budget.

I popped into the dollar store and grabbed some paint and paintbrushes.
I tried touching up the original Coca-Cola stamp with white paint... but I wasn't liking the look.  The paint was running beyond the stamp imprint, so I outlined the letters with a Sharpie.
I used a damp paper towel to lighten up the white paint.
Ta-da!

Crate: $3
Paint & Brushes: $2
Total Cost: $5

So far the crate is living outside, but it is looking kind of lonely out there.  I'm on the hunt for some things to pair it with.  I'll post it when I find it :)

Learning to Linky

I am a baby blogger.  So, I'm stumbling around a little.

I thought that I had achieved the changes on my blogger dashboard in order to allow me to have a Linky party... but I was wrong :(  So if you tried to link up and couldn't - I am so sorry about that.

I put my detective hat on and did some sleuthing.
I have discovered that in order to do a Linky party I needed a Linky tool to add to my blog.
"Elementary my dear Watson."

So I googled it, created an account, and am in the process of
running through their informative demos.

So next time I announce a linky party
hopefully it will work :)

Thank you for your kind comments regarding the bootroom.
It is long and narrow... but as you gals reminded me
I am blessed to have it :)

I hope that you are smiling and crossing things off your LiSt :)

Share the Joy? A Different Kind of Linking Party

So I've been navigating around blogosphere for a while now, and I've seen LOTS of linking parties.  Most of them are decor or recipes, but I want to try something just a little bit different
You know that happy feeling of accomplishment that you finally finish something that you have been procrastinating?  Let's share the joy :)

So here is the challenge:
1. tackle one of "those projects" on the list (decor, organizing, budgeting, whatever you want)
2. blog about it
3. link it up here
4. check out what everyone else is up to and leave some lovely comments :).

I bet we'll be inspired to cross even more items off our own to do lists.

Gotta run... I've got a boot room to tackle!

PS I seem to be having difficulty with the linky thing so... please leave your link in the comments.  Thanks for your patience as I try to get my technical skills to catch up to my ideas.

I Feel Like Such a Dinosaur

Can anyone instruct me how to host a linky party?  Thanks a million if you can.
You blogger friends are so brilliant!

$0 Thanksgiving Decor

It's Thanksgiving weekend

here in Canada.

I took down the cards and photos that I had up
and replaced them with chipboard scrapbooking letters
from my stash.

I'm really working on using up my stash
instead of buying more stuff.

Upon seeing the new display, son #1 (Dr. Pepper Jr.)
said, "Cool.  But who are we thanking?"
Me: "God."
Dr. Pepper Jr., "I just forgot what the Thanksgiving holiday was all about."
Hmmm, guess we gotta talk about that one @ our turkey dinner.
thank YOU GOD
for all you have given us!
(check it out: James 1:17)

We're blessed to be a blessing.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
